Taoist Lovemaking
Lovemaking has been taught by Taoists for over 4,000 years, along with exercise and meditation, as a part of the path towards happier relationships, better health, and spiritual enlightenment. The Taoists did not treat sex as something taboo but rather as something natural and beautiful to be appreciated and perfected for the benefit and enjoyment of both oneself and one's partner.

One of the earliest known records of human sexual practices and techniques were passed down to us by the Yellow Emperor or Huang Ti (2,698 BC), the father of Chinese civilization. He is credited with discovering the secret of immortality, or deathless awareness, through the blending of male and female energy during sexual intercourse to produce pure energy and spirit ("shen"). The Taoists did not view men and women as adversaries but as natural partners. Huang Ti was said to have three female advisors - the Plain Girl, the Mysterious Girl, and the Rainbow Girl. Many classical Chinese texts detail the teachings imparted by them to Huang Ti regarding health, longevity, sexuality, military strategy, governance, as well as spirituality and internal alchemy. One such text is the Su Nü Jing and goes into detail about Taoist sexual practices in the form of a dialogue between Huang Ti and his three female advisors. They teach him the importance of female satisfaction and controlling male ejaculation for prolonging intercourse and conservation of energy and improved health.

I have been learning the art of Taoist lovemaking for over 10 years and the impact it has had on my life has been profound. I think anyone can benefit from the teachings of the Taoists as sexual dissatisfaction is often the cause of much unhappiness in relationships today.
